Othello :Tragic Hero

Othello, the moor of Venice, is the general of the Venetian army.  In the beginning of the play Othello is full of pride (hubris), and is displayed as a man of high importance and status. In-fact the, rest of the army sees him as such a good leader, that Cassio refers to him as "Jove" the God of all Gods. Over the course of the play, Othello's trusting nature gets the better of him when Iago manipulates him into believing that Desdemona is having an affair with Cassio. In the middle of the play, disorder strikes as Othello's love for Desdemona turns to hate and jealousy. In the end, Othello's trusting nature is the downfall of everyone in the play.
